national symposium 2017 box graphicThe IJIS Institute’s National Symposium is the premier event on information sharing & safeguarding (IS&S) for justice, public safety, and homeland security. The National Symposium focuses on IS&S and national priority initiatives and brings together industry, non-profit, academia, and government leaders to network and collaborate in a non-sales environment. It offers the unique opportunity to hear first-hand from state and local government officials and Federal government leaders.

Badge & Tech Benefit & Awards Dinner 

The National Symposium is co-located with the Badge & Tech Benefit & Awards Dinner, where IJIS Institute Members, Associates, and partners come together to benefit a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the public safer and more secure. The most recent benefit was held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott on January 20, 2016, where the recipient was the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The recipients of the IJIS Institute Innovation Award and the Robert P. Shumate National Public Safety and Justice Contributor to Excellence Award are celebrated at the Badge & Tech Benefit along with recipients of Membership Longevity Awards. It is truly an evening of celebration and a fantastic networking opportunity.

Media/Press Attendance

The objective of the IJIS Institute events are to provide collaborative forums where government and industry executives may engage in a frank and candid exchange on issues of topical importance to the justice, public safety, and homeland security IT community. Reporters and attendees are asked to not attribute any statement to any individual speaker or participants in any recordings, documentation, or social media for dissemination beyond the session without the associated speaker's permission. If the participant does not consent, we ask all reporters and attendees to honor a non-attribution policy to preserve the events as open forums for meaningful exchanges between government and industry. Media outlets are granted one complimentary conference registration per publication genre. Refund Policy for IJIS Events

  • Cancellations must be sent in writing to pamela.thormas@ijis.org.

  • Cancellations received 30 days or more before the opening of an event, will be issued a refund less a $50 cancellation fee.

  • Cancellations received less than 30 days before the opening of an event, are not entitled to a refund.
