Badge & Tech Benefit

On October 29, Hurricane Sandy, one of the largest and fiercest storms ever to hit the East Coast, devastated New Jersey and New York with torrential rains, 90 mph winds and widespread flooding. The powerful storm transformed New Jersey's streets into rivers and inundated Lower Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.
While police officers were saving over 1,100 people in New York alone, their own homes were being destroyed. When the storm passed, an estimated 1,000 homes belonging to officers and their families were either severely damaged or destroyed. While many of the most urgent needs such as food and water are being taken care of through the generosity of many, officers' families are facing a long road to recovery -- future needs will be great.
JOIN US as we band together to support our law enforcement community at the IJIS Institute's Third Annual Badge & Tech Benefit on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
Proceeds from the Benefit will be given to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Foundation for immediate assistance to those officers and their families who were hardest hit by the storm.
The mission of the IACP Foundation is to support injured and fallen officers and their families and to protect the safety of officers. The Foundation is committed to creating a lifelong culture of officer safety, health and wellness for active law enforcement officers, while also honoring those who have fallen by providing immediate assistance, educational scholarships for survivors, and access to counseling.
If you are unable to attend the benefit, you can still help by donating at http://secure.ijis.org/2013badgeandtechbenefit.aspx
