IJIS Institute Executive eNewsletter
Serving as the voice of industry, we unite the private and public sectors to improve mission-critical information sharing for those who protect and serve our communities.
As you see the IJIS Institute engaging the federal government, watch carefully. The whole purpose for our involvement there is to bring industry (you) to the table with them—to be involved in the process of standards development, to have opportunity to be a part of the solution to improve information sharing. After all, you are ultimately responsible for implementing those standards. Let your current and potential clients see you being a part of helping to make it happen.

Executive Director’s Message
The IJIS Institute is a unique organization. As a membership group, other organizations or associations representing the private sector tend to be focused on lobbying efforts or on internal issues related to their members. The founding purpose of the IJIS Institute is to help government agencies improve information sharing through technology. There is no other non-profit company with private sector membership devoted to this purpose. This single-minded purpose is the basis for considerable influence and authority in relating to Federal, state, local, and tribal governments. By collaborating with the various practitioner organizations, the Institute will continue to create a more educated customer base, reduce the animosity formerly found in public sector relationships with industry, and increase industry's ability to provide better solutions.
Because of the standing and trust established by the IJIS Institute, membership implies a high level of integrity and commitment to quality service in this field on the part of the member company. By their contributions to improving the capability of the nation to share public safety and justice information, members earn greater trust and respect from the customer community.
—Glenn Archer, Executive Director, IJIS Institute
