IJIS Institute Membership Jets Past 300
Membership at the IJIS Institute is growing strong with 317 Members and Affiliates now participating. “Industry continues to come together and experience the strength and impact of collaboration,” cites Jennifer Dillon, manager of Industry Relations at the IJIS Institute. “Information sharing hurdles are no small task to overcome in the public safety, justice and homeland security communities. It takes true collaboration to get things done.”
Collaborative discussions and task forces/committees consisting of industry representatives and practitioners are making a difference in the rate of progress. Industry is seeing this progress occur as more companies are joining in to become a part of the solution to overcoming the nation’s information sharing challenges.
Important Note: Many IJIS Institute Affiliates will have their 12-month terms expire on 12/31/2010. This month, Affiliates will see emails containing discount offers on the first year of membership dues for those upgrading to full Member before the end of the year. This quarter is the last opportunity to take advantage of the discount offers. Look for the offers from the IJIS Institute arriving in your inbox soon!
Alliance Partner News—IJIS Institute Partners with Key Organizations
The IJIS Institute relies heavily on partnerships with key practitioner organizations, national associations, other nonprofit organizations, and universities in its effort to harness the expertise of industry in working toward improved information sharing between organizations involved in justice, public safety, and homeland security.
Most recently, the IJIS Institute welcomed new Alliance Partners: the Alliance of States with Prescription Monitoring Programs (ASPMP), the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA), Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), the Major City Chiefs Association (MCC), and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).
ASPMP was formed in 1990 to provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among state and federal agencies on prescription monitoring programs. Since then, it has grown to be a valuable resource to all those concerned with combating the increase in prescription drug abuse, misuse and diversion.
