Martha Hill
Assistant Director, Outreach & Communications
Ms. Hill is assistant director of Marketing and Communications for the IJIS Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation formed to help state, local, tribal, and federal governments develop ways to share information among the disciplines engaged in law enforcement, public safety, the administration of justice, and homeland security. As the assistant director of marketing and communications, Ms. Hill manages the Institute’s marketing and communication programs to promote the Institute to other non-profits, foundations, potential members, and justice, public safety, and homeland security practitioners. She is developing the Institute’s first funding/development initiative to support long-term growth and sustainability. Ms. Hill supports the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance’s National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Communications & Outreach Committee with marketing and communications.
Ms. Hill has extensive experience in information technology and has served in a variety of senior marketing management positions. Her public safety career spans over sixteen years with positions at PSI International, OCS Technologies, GTE Information Systems, and Vision Technology. Ms. Hill was co-founder of Viking Technology, a software development and integration firm providing computer aided dispatch and records management software applications to law enforcement and fire service agencies.
In her most recent position with Nortel Government Solutions, formerly PEC Solutions, Ms. Hill was the corporate vice president of marketing for both IT services and Nortel communications products in the federal space. She was responsible for branding, advertising, press relations, partner program promotion, trade show production, and event management. She held a variety of senior positions prior to Nortel’s acquisition of PEC, including director of proposal development and director of investor relations.
Ms. Hill was previously with American Express International Banking Corporation in Frankfurt, Germany, where she served as manager for public affairs and product promotion for Germany, Holland, Greece, and the United Kingdom. Prior to that she was a community liaison officer with the Department of State in Damascus, Syria, and served in various positions with the U.S. Embassy in Israel and Zambia.
