Webinar 2: Strategies for Providing Coordinated, Comprehensive Systems of Care to Justice Involved Populations  (April 6th, 3:00-4:30 ET)
Ensuring that justice-involved populations have health coverage is just the first step for them to actually receive necessary and appropriate care. This webinar will present strategies criminal justice and state Medicaid agencies can use to build and finance coordinated, comprehensive health care systems for people leaving prison or jail. There will be a particular focus on four promising strategies to serve the justice-involved population, including: establishing Medicaid health homes; engaging Medicaid managed care plans in care coordination; instituting routine care transition planning processes; and increasing access to needed prescription medication upon discharge. The webinar will conclude with an audience question-and-answer session.
