Offenderwatch® Focus Receives the 2018 IJIS Institute Innovation Award

The IJIS Institute is pleased to announce the Baltimore Police Department’s and Watch Systems, LLC’s Offenderwatch® Focus project as the recipient of the IJIS Institute Innovation Award. The award celebrates the accomplishments of the police department along with industry partner Watch Systems, LLC. The award was presented at the Badge & Tech Benefit & Awards Dinner on February 7, 2018, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.
The goal of OffenderWatch® Focus is to protect the public from sex offenders by helping the Baltimore Police Department Sex Offender Registry Unit design an offender monitoring strategy focused on those offenders most likely to become non-compliant or commit another crime. The OffenderWatch® FOCUS score is a dynamic risk factor derived from proven predictive analytics of current offender data in a sex offender registry.

The annual IJIS Institute Innovation Award recognizes technical innovation that has contributed significantly to the advancement of integration and interoperability in a justice, public safety or homeland security. The award, which is open to any company providing justice, public safety, or homeland security solutions, is for team achievement by an industry partner and a Federal, state, local, or tribal agency.
