IJIS Institute Executive Director to Step Down

Last week the Chairman of the IJIS Institute Board of Directors Benji Hutchinson announced that Ashwini Jarral has decided to step down from his role of Executive Director at the IJIS Institute. Effective as of June 1st, 2020, he will begin new endeavors while continuing to support the IJIS mission. Ashwini’s service at the IJIS Institute has been invaluable over a 15 year period, serving in different leadership roles. During the last three years, Ashwini has served as the IJIS Executive Director, leading the organization to a new level of strategic value nationally, as well as a position of financial stability.
The IJIS Institute Board of Directors will be appointing Maria M. Cardiellos, Director of Operations, as the Acting Executive Director. The Board will immediately begin conducting a formal process to search for the next permanent IJIS Executive Director. Both Ashwini and Maria are working to ensure a smooth transition.
Over the last 15 years at the Institute, Ashwini has led various initiatives focused on contributing to the success of the Institute. During his tenure as the Executive Director, he has been instrumental in leading the organization on a new path of growth with the launch of a new strategic plan, creating IJIS growth into new markets, and also generating record revenue in the history of the Institute.
Benji Hutchinson stated “It has been my pleasure to work with Ashwini over the last few years to establish the IJIS Institute’s new path of growth. I have always recognized his passion and strong belief and dedication to the IJIS mission. He is leaving the Institute in its’ strongest financial position ever and together we have positioned IJIS as a force for change in the communities we serve. On behalf of the IJIS Institute Board of Directors, I would like to thank Ashwini for his service at the Institute. We wish him much success in his future endeavors.”
